The way she sweated and her hands were sticky,

and the way his fingers were stuck in between hers.

The way she looked into his eyes and he looked into hers, 

and for a long time no one spoke.

The way tears filled those eyes and the gentle hands that wiped them off,

belonged to a man with red eyes too.

The way the words that never came out right

made their way to the heart.

She never imagined it could happen to her,

but it did.
